Glory Daze 03:11
I stare out my window and look at what’s become my world, while I’ve been confined to this place. My freedom isolated to a room, my mind - my prison I cannot escape. Resignation, my deterioration on me has not dawned. No memories past this moment - my life is slowly lost. Synaptic tension, creating suspension. Who am I? Who are you? Each waking day is a struggle to stumble through. But I look back on my glory days, when I wasn’t trapped in this cage. Walk the Northwestern shores, breathe in that ocean air. I’m still there. Once again a visit from that girl. I struggle to put a name to the face. She tries to comfort me with words. I’m racked with confusion, I cannot relate. Resignation, my deterioration on me has not dawned. No memories past this moment - my life is slowly lost. Synaptic tension, creating suspension. Who am I? Who are you? Each waking day is a struggle to stumble through. But I look back on my glory days. When I wasn’t trapped in this cage. Walk the shores of the Grand and hold my daughter’s hand. I’m still there. So I live in my glory days. To break me out of this cage. I hope that when that girl will come, she will understand. I’m still there.

Do you ever get the feeling you've been wronged? Short end of the stick, life's lottery’s been lost. Counted your eggs before they hatched. Been that bad apple that spoiled the batch. Luck is for losers, lucky for you. Reach up your ass, you'll find that broken horseshoe. A stitch in time, they say will save nine - but your frays aren't on the seams. You dragged a horse to the water and of course now he won't drink. Measure once, always cut twice. You're missing all your marks. Put all your eggs in one basket for it to fall apart. Luck is for losers (lucky for you) Luck is for losers (lucky for you) Luck is for losers (lucky for you) Alright, I'll give you credit. They say when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade but the problem here is: your's tastes like piss. A stitch in time, they say will save nine - but your frays aren't on the seams. You dragged a horse to the water but you can’t make him drink. Measure once, always cut twice. You're missing all your marks. Put all your eggs in one basket, for it to fall apart.

Oh, hey, yeah man, what's new? It's been so long since I've seen you. How've you been? Where you workin', you got a wife and kids? Who me? Nah, I'm the same. Got no kids, my job is lame. I've never left this city, in fact I just bought my parents house. I guess life moved too fast. and I just lost track. It's funny the excuses we always tell ourselves. Maybe next year. I'll have to look that up! Once I save a bit more, I can get out of this rut. When I retire.... once the weather warms up. After I get my promotion and out this dead end job You know that we have limited time. To take that leap. You know that we have limited time. So take the leap. As I look back, on decisions in my life. I know that, I may have wasted time. I sought security and did what I was taught to do. Made "good decisions" to invest and accrue. I guess life moved too fast. and I just lost track. It's funny the excuses that I always told myself.

Took the long way home and pretended you were here, right there. In the passenger seat, arm out the window. I'll push forward into this night, Darkness cut by the headlights. And I'm into the unknown, Lost without a guide. Looking for that place, We stopped for gas that time. This search for sanity. A plug to fill this hole. My mind is spiraling out of control. Do you remember saying That there were days worth saving? I skipped my shift and we took off up North. And even though we got off track, There was no turning back. Just keep up going on down that road. And when we hit that dead end Just miles past Grand Bend. And the heater broke and started blowing cold. We turned the volume up high. I looked up to that clear sky. Anywhere you were with me, I am home. We just said our last goodbyes. I managed not to cry. Read your eulogy off a post-it note. Said you were taken far too soon. And that I loved you to the moon and back Just like you would when we were younger. Do you remember saying That there were days worth saving? I skipped my shift and we took off up North. And even though we got off track, There was no turning back. Just keep up on travelling down that road. And when we hit that dead end Just miles past Grand Bend. And the heater broke and started blowing cold. We turned the volume up high. I looked up to that clear sky. Anywhere you were with me, I am home.
